SQLServer Administration
Working with the affected applications groups and server, storage, and backups administrators perform the following tasks.
Develop a new SQLServer 2008 architecture that addresses local high availability and remote disaster recovery.
Develop a migration strategy to move SQLServer databases from our existing mixed version environment to the 2008 standard architecture consolidating the number of databases as possible.
Execute the migration strategy
Performance and tuning as required
Establishment of ongoing backup/recovery procedures
Testing of high availability and remote recovery capability
Documentation on all processes and procedures for ongoing support

Operating Environment-Client operates two active data centers
22 (plus or minus) SQLServer Databases version 2000, 2003, and 2005.
Highly virtualized environment using VMWare Vsphere 4
Data centers and all business sites connected by dual path 10GB network owned and operated by OUC.
EMC VMax SANs at each data center with synchronous replication between the SANs
