Job Description
Designs, defines and supports system architecture and operations for new or existing computer systems. Provides full life-cycle support for systems and services, including the installation, tuning, testing, monitoring, operation, maintenance, upgrading, patching, break/fix, and
management of designated systems and associated equipment, both garrison and deployed, for all levels of security classification. Performs on-site or in-house servicing, repairs and/or installations of customer-owned products. Provides technical support to customers on
operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems.
Duties:
* Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems
engineering.
* Provides tier 3 infrastructure design, implementation and troubleshooting. Knowledge base shall include Networking, AD, DDNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, TFTP, RTP, SCCP, HTTP, NAS, AVVID, VoIP, COTS and GOTS applications.
* Responsible for providing hardware and software fault isolation, repairs, installation, upgrades and input to configuration management on network connectivity suites and its system equipment; such as, but not limited to, network devices (routers, hubs, switches), user data
servers (IIS, Exchange, SQL, Linux), IT user devices (workstations, laptops, printers, scanners) and associated cabling.
* Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
* Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.
* Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.
* Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
* Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
* Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
* Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
* May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
* Participates in special projects as required.
Requirements:
* 10 years of experience working with W2K/W2K3/Windows 7. Candidate must have a strong background supporting global Active Directory (AD) infrastructure in a mixed Windows and UNIX environment. Candidate must be capable of providing senior level Tier 3 support in a
global infrastructure.
* Strong troubleshooting background in computer hardware, communications equipment, LAN.
* A comprehensive technical knowledge with strong communication skills (written & oral), and strong customer interface skills is extremely important.
* Prefer strong Exchange background.
Unique/Additional Responsibilities:
* TS/SCI clearance required
* This position is contingent on contract award
* This position may require shift and weekend work
* Candidate may be required to carry a pager to respond to on-call support outside normally scheduled hours
* This position may require deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations worldwide, and may include hazardous duty areas
* Deployments can be of a duration of up to 180 days; this position typically deploys on an as-required basis
* The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
Education:
* Bachelors Degree in computer science or equivalent experience with additional advanced and specialized training in Windows based networks/systems administration/network administration.
* Relevant industry certification in related field (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc are preferred).
* Security + certification required, CISSP preferred
* ITIL V3 certification
